Best of Hawaii
With Cosmos, low prices don't mean "cheap tours." More than a million people have come back to us year after year. Our clients' repeat business is the best testimony to the incredible value that we offer.
Our tour's success depends heavily on our tour directors to strike the right balance of activities and free time. They are always on hand with shopping tips and suggestions for optional side trips and entertainment.
The Best of Hawaii takes you to the islands of Oahu and Maui for a special blend of Pacific pleasures with guided tours and plenty of free time to explore on your own.
Day 1
Upon arrival, you are greeted the Polynesian way - with a warm aloha and a lei of fresh flowers. Transfer to your hotel in Waikiki. This evening meet your traveling companions at a welcome reception hosted by your tour director.
Day 2 Honolulu
Enjoy a continental breakfast and orientation with your tour director and meet your fellow tour members.
Afterward take a cruise of Pearl Harbor's famous battleship row. Listen to the narration of the dramatic air attack of December 7, 1941, and view the sunken USS Arizona and the impressive memorial to the 1,102 men still entombed.
|
Then on to Punchbowl National Cemetery and Honolulu Lookout. Other sights include bustling Chinatown, the State Capital, Iolani Palace, and Kamehameha's Statue.
The afternoon is free for independent activities. Tonight join the optional sunset dinner cruise along the shores of Waikiki. (CB)

|
Tonight attend a Luau, a perfect time to experience Polynesian music, dancing, and food at a traditional luau feast.

Day 3 Honolulu
A full day at leisure. Waikiki offers a wide variety of activities to choose from: swimming, surfing, snorkeling, and sailing, tennis and golf, and browsing for souvenirs at the splendid International Market Place.
Your tour director will suggest a full day optional outing to the Polynesian Cultural Center where you'll enjoy a lavish dinner buffet and the colorful stage show: "Horizons"
Day 4 Honolulu
One last day to enjoy the world's most famous beach, Waikiki, with its commanding view of Diamond Head, the remnant of an ancient volcano. There are so many exciting things to do here that you'll have a hard time deciding among them. How about a submarine ride into the sparkling waters off the coast?
Or maybe a half-day tour of Oahu's highlights, including the beautiful homes of Kahala, Hanauma Bay and scenic Pali Lookout. Tonight attend a Luau, a perfect time to experience Polynesian music, dancing, and food at a traditional luau feast. (D)
Day 5 Honolulu - Maui
A midmorning transfer to the Honolulu airport for the short flight to Maui, the "Valley Island" On arrival, sightseeing begins with a visit to the Iao Valley, the "Yosemite of the Pacific" to view the Iao needle.
Then through lush farm country and along the shoreline via Maalaea Boat Harbor to Lahaina, once a whaling center and capital of the Hawaiian monarchy. Free time to explore this colorful town. Then head to your lovely hotel situated across the street from the beach in the resort area of Kihei.
Day 6 Maui
The morning is dedicated to Haleakala National Park, site of the huge volcanic Haleakala Crater, known to the islanders as the "House of the Sun" The parkland is located in a setting of stunning natural beauty, ranging from a landscape of cinder cones to dense rain forest.
This fragile International Biosphere Reserve is home to a number of rare plants, including the distinctive silversword. Return to your hotel in the early afternoon with plenty of time for you to enjoy its facilities. For the evening, why not revisit lovely Lahaina and take advantage of the town's array of specialty restaurants?
Day 7 Maui
A full day of leisure to enjoy Maui's splendid beaches or relax by the pool at the hotel. Kihei offers plenty of boutiques, restaurants, and quaint craft stores to browse through.
There is a variety of optional outings including the "Road to Hana" one of the world's most spectacular scenic drives with its 54 bridges and many waterfalls.
You may want to take in the area's newest attraction the Maui Ocean Center, a state-of-the-art aquarium and marine park that showcases the marine life indigenous to the islands.
Also from January to mid-April, whale watching is offered. Your tour director has plenty of suggestions for evening entertainment.
Day 8 Maui - Honolulu
Transfer to the airport in Kahului to catch a short flight to Honolulu to connect with your homebound flight.
Kona Extension
Extend your stay in Kona for an 11 day adventure.
Instead of transferring to Honolulu for your connector flight home why not consider staying on for a few more days?
Day 8
This morning fly from Maui to the Big Island of Hawaii. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Kona on the Kohala Coast.
Choose from a selection of exciting optional excursions: a full-day island circle tour that visits Volcanoes National Park, a tour to historical Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Park, a one-hour helicopter flightseeing adventure, or a romantic sunset dinner cruise, among other choices.
Day 9 & 10 Kona
Two full days at leisure with plenty of activities to choose from. Sun-drenched Kona lies on a sport-fishing harbor at the foot of Hawaii's two highest peaks, Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea.
Eerie expanses of hardened lava that flowed from the twin volcanoes as recently as 150 years ago are interspersed with groves of coconut palms along quiet beaches. Why not visit the harbor and charter a deep-sea fishing boat or take a snorkeling trip to one of the nearby coral reefs?
Day 11 Kona - Honolulu
Transfer to the airport in Kona and fly back to Honolulu to connect with your homebound flight.
Your hotel in Kona is the tourist-class Kona Seaside situated in the heart of Kailua-Kona and just 50 yards from the Pacific Ocean. All rooms in this Polynesian style hotel have a private lanai (patio), air conditioning, a tropical ceiling fan, phone, color TV, coffee maker, and refrigerator.
